Spanish Mestizo in the Philippines

Q: Are there Spanish mestizo's in the Philippines? What do they do? What role do they play in the Philippine society where can they be found?

A: Spanish mestizo's  comprises about 1.5% of the Philippine population, only those who show Physical attributes of Spanish ancestry are considered mestizo, such as lighter skin tone, brown hair, aquiline nose etc.., Most them can be found around Visayas area, (the center part of the Philippines) since the people from North rejected Spanish governance, and the Southern Central part embraced Spanish regime.Some areas that have high concentration of Spanish mestizo's are Cebu City and parts of Zamboanga and the islands surrounding the area (Visayas area mostly)  A lot of Spanish mestizos in the Philippines still hold large lands and corporations, like the Zobels. Although there are Spanish mestizo's in the low income class.
